NOTES: This is a practical course. Participants are expected to be experienced clinicians or senior trainees. Forensic experience is not necessary. The course content is relevant to both civil and criminal matters, including malpractice, professional standards, emotional damages, harassment, boundary issues, disability, wrongful termination, privileging and credentialing, various forms of competence or capacity, criminal responsibility, and sexually violent predator commitments. Most topics apply to clinical psychologists as well as psychiatrists. Continuing education credits are not yet available for this course. Class size limited to 50; alternative dates may be available. The course does not focus on topics specific to child psychiatry/psychology (e.g., child custody). Refunds: 100% before ________; 50% before __________.
